There are some churches who have groups.
At Cornerstone, we bleed groups! We believe life change happens in groups and we do everything we can to help everyone we can connect in a Community Group.

Our community group has created a safe space for us to be real. It’s been very easy to be honest and transparent each week. Having people to talk to and go through life with has been awesome! Following Jesus is hard, but having these friendships makes it easier.

HOW OUR GROUPS WORK

-Our groups form a Lecture-Lab model when paired with our Sunday services.

-On Sundays, Pastor Scott and other guest speakers teach relevant, Biblical, and practical messages which speak to people at all stages in their spiritual journey. (That’s the lecture part.)

-Each message ends with Next Steps, which helps us identify concrete ways we can apply what God has been speaking to us about that day.

-During the week, our sermon-based Community Groups meet in homes across the Quad Cities area where 8-16 people open their Bibles and work through a series of discussion questions which help us review what we heard on Sunday, process what they’re thinking and feeling as a result, and identify what our next steps are. (That’s the lab part.)

-These groups get together as an entire group or in smaller groups for coffee, meals, camping trips, parties, and Bible studies. Over time, our groups begin to share everyday life together and support each other through the highs and lows.

-While we do our best to plug people into groups which have space all year long, we look to launch as many new groups as we can around the start of the school year (August/September) and the start of the new year (January/February).
