Thanks so much for checking out Cornerstone Church. We know how difficult it is to search for a new church home. It can also be really difficult to visit a church if you’ve never been or haven’t been in a long time.

Our church gathers every Sunday at 9am and 10:30am. These two identical services take place in the Performing Arts Center at Yavapai College. We’d love to host you as our guest and encourage you as you continue your spiritual journey.

We’ve created this list of Frequently Asked Questions based upon conversations we’ve had with guests who have visited our church. We hope this information answers questions you may have and we look forward to seeing you on a Sunday very soon!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How long are your worship services?

Worship services at Cornerstone generally last 60-70 minutes.

What happens during the worship service?

Our worship band leads us in a mixture of newer songs and hymns, which allows us to worship Jesus. The service often includes other elements like communion, baptism, video clips or a spoken word poem. One of our pastors brings a message from the Bible which is relevant to our lives today. Because we try to incorporate different creative elements, we recommend attending 2 different Sundays to get a feel for our services.

Will there be a live preacher?

Yes, every week. Our Lead Pastor, Scott Savage, brings the message most Sundays. He enjoys teaching through books of the Bible, as well as sharing topical series. Each week’s message leads us to study a text from the Bible and make application to our lives today. When Pastor Scott isn’t preaching, another member of our staff brings the message.

What should I wear?

You’ll see people wearing all kinds of attire from shorts and sandals to suit coats and dresses. Dress however you feel comfortable.

What do you have available for children?

We have exciting programs for children from birth through 6th grade. When you arrive, one of our greeters can show you where to check your children in for programming designed especially for them.

Please consider arriving 15 minutes before the service begins in order for you to complete the check-in process before the service begins.

Students in 7th grade and above participate in the worship service with the adults. Our students have their own specific program, which meets on Wednesdays at 6:30 pm at our Rosser campus, 700 W. Rosser St., Prescott.

Will I be singled out if I’m new?

No way! We will go out of our way to make you feel welcome and included, but you’re welcome to be anonymous, if you like. Every week is someone’s first Sunday at Cornerstone. Our goal is for you to feel comfortable when you attend. Please grab a Welcome Bag on your way in or out of the service as an expression of our gratitude for joining us.

Will communion be served?
At Cornerstone, we typically take communion on the first Sunday
of each month.

What’s next after I attend a service?

We encourage you to fill out a Hi There card in the worship bulletin and share any questions or needs you have. Also, one of the best ways to get to know our church is by joining a small group. Our groups meet in homes throughout the week. These groups dig deeper into the sermon from Sunday and the passage we studied. If you want to learn more about these groups, please use the form below to send a message.
